Most hosting platforms are a control panel bolted onto a generic encoder. Loudness is whatever it happens to be. Publishing runs on a batch job that catches up eventually. Downloads show up in a report the next day. None of it is engineered — it just works well enough that nobody’s checked.

Castcore is podcast hosting built by broadcast engineers.

We build broadcasting infrastructure that keeps national broadcasters and Finnish crisis communications authorities on air when everything else stops. Castcore applies the same discipline to podcast hosting: every episode measured with R128 methodology, encoded with Fraunhofer AAC, and conformed to the AES77 −18 LUFS target with a −5 dBTP ceiling — the same processing chain a national broadcaster runs, aimed at an RSS feed instead of a transmitter.

Schedule a release for 06:00 and it goes live at 06:00. There’s no gap between the time you set and the time it’s live, because there’s no nightly batch job standing between them. Analytics work the same way — play confirmations land within seconds, not a next-day report, so you can watch a release climb while the moment still belongs to you.

Every byte stays in the EU.

Audio, metadata, images, and analytics are stored in the EU and kept there — GDPR-friendly by architecture, not a policy checkbox added afterward. The listener data collected (approximate location, device type, platform) is anonymized enough that no single listener could be identified from it.

Point the import tool at any RSS feed. Castcore pulls the back catalogue, re-encodes every episode to spec, and re-hosts it in the EU. Your current host forwards listeners to the new address, apps pick it up on their next refresh, and nobody re-subscribes.
